Wavelet

“Wavelet” investigates the dynamics and elemental properties of water by exploring the unique tension of water's movement and how water relates to the external environment (i.e. cohesion, adhesion, etc.). Water’s surface tension and unique chemical bonds lead to the formation of ripples, droplets and the ability to occupy all negative space within reach. The dancers explore how water is both uniform and disorderly within one entity. Choreography, costume and sound design by Nina Deno. Videography by Steven Beier. Music by Kai Engel.

Risk Ratio

Nina Deno was the Alumni Guest Artist in residence for the Purdue Contemporary Dance Company (PCDC) for the Fall 2023 semester. Her piece, Risk Ratio, explored the process of risk identification, risk escalation and risk mitigation which was inspired by her daily experiences as a Senior Clinical Scientist at Cook Research Incorporated. The creative process was intensely collaborative with ten talented student dancers. The music was created by sound designer, Victoria Bloom, and lighting design by Nina Pebeahsy.

Avocation Part 1

The dance is intended to be light hearted and welcome the audience into our world of expressive movement. Choreography by all DDC members. Costume and sound design by Nina Deno.
